What to Expect from your DEXA Scan
A DEXA scan, is a simple and non-invasive procedure. The process is painless and usually takes about 10 minutes to complete. During the test, you’ll be asked to lie on a padded table while a scanner passes over your body. Here’s what you can expect.
Arrive
After arriving to our mobile location, you are greeted by our friendly technicians and invited in to prepare.
Prepare
Prepare by removing your shoes, and any metallic jewelry or accessories.
Lay Back
Lay back on the bed of the scanner. The arm of the DEXA machine will pass over your body while recording your results.
Get Results
After 10-15 minutes, the scan will be complete and your report will be available immediately.
In addition to the results of your bone density, we provide you with other important information such as your body composition and muscle mass. This can give you a better understanding of your overall health and identify any potential areas for improvement.
